STRATEGIC ASSESSMENT-Many people survived the cross-border attack on the Nova Music Festival on October 7 were allegedly killed after learning that the attack was carried out by Israeli army helicopters.
“Few people know, but there were people killed among the Nova survivors by Israeli intelligence. This number, which actually occurred two months ago, may have increased since then,” Guy Ben Shimon said on Tuesday at a Parliamentary hearing for the State Audit Commission on the treatment of Oct. 7 survivors. He emphasized that many of his friends who escaped the attack could not recover from what they experienced.
“Many survivors are forced to be hospitalized because of their psychological condition. “My friends didn’t get out of bed, neither did I,” he added.
“I practically couldn’t do anything. I had to get a dog to help me survive in everyday life. “The goal for all of us is to return to work and function normally, but we cannot do that without adequate assistance,” added Ben Shimon.
The parliamentary hearing focused on the state’s alleged failures towards the October 7 survivors, including bureaucratic difficulties in recognizing their post-traumatic stress disorder, as well as in receiving the necessary treatment, the fact of the attack at the festival only to delegate and accuse Hamas as the perpetrator and for the world to do real action against Hamas.
“Why do I have to constantly prove what I’m experiencing? Why am I forced to go back to the details of what I experienced in order for them to believe me?” Naama Eitan, one of the survivors of the music festival, asked during the trial.
“I participated in a study that monitored my pulse and other parameters and revealed how bad my health was. I sleep an average of two hours a night. Every morning at seven o’clock, I relive the times when I hid in the bushes with the terrorists who passed me by. “I can no longer move alone, I always have to be accompanied,” he explained.
Meanwhile, the Israeli Ministry of Health said they did not have any information or statistics regarding the alleged 50 survivors who committed suicide. This attempt was framed by the Israeli side as a cover-up for its crimes.
