STRATEGIC ASSESSMENT. The Indonesian government welcomes the truce agreement between Hamas and Israel that will pave the way for the implementation of a four-day humanitarian pause in the besieged Gaza Strip, Foreign Affairs Minister Retno Marsudi said in a statement published on social media platform X. The Qatar-mediated truce agreement that is reportedly set to begin on Thursday morning will hopefully pave the way for a permanent end to the conflict and a start of bringing all related parties to seek just and comprehensive peace, Retno said. The minister stated that Indonesia lauds Qatar that has left no stone unturned to make both Hamas and Israel agree on the truce by coordinating with Egypt and the United States.
Indonesian hospital in Gaza was reportedly bombed by the Israel force. In Al-Jazeera’s latest update, Israel launched its latest attack on the hospital in the northern Gaza Strip. Israeli forces targeted the power generators of the Indonesia Hospital, said the Gaza Health Ministry in the blockaded enclave. “The hospital is subjected to heavy shelling that targeted power generators and large parts of buildings,” ministry spokesperson Ashraf al-Qudra said in a brief statement. “The lives of 200 patients and medical staff are at risk amid the attack,” he warned.
Foreign Affairs Minister Retno Marsudi recently told her Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov that Israel should not justify murdering civilians in Gaza as “self-defense”. Retno visited Russia alongside other ministers from the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and held talks with Russia’s Lavrov on ending the war in Gaza. According to Retno, Russia and the OIC meeting also discussed making “strategic steps” towards a two-state solution that envisions Israel and Palestine as two independent states. There are also plans to hold an international conference on the Gaza situation. Retno added: “Russia agreed to the points on the recently adopted OIC-Arab League resolution.”
Israeli troops carried out deadly attacks in West Bank amid a ceasefire in Gaza, Palestine. Five Palestinians were killed in Jenin, while a sixth person was killed in the village of Yatma in Nablus. According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, the six Palestinians killed by Israeli forces included one minor in the occupied West Bank. Palestinian news agency Wafa said Israeli troops stormed Jenin from several directions, firing bullets and surrounding the government hospital and the headquarters of the Palestine Red Crescent.

Retno was on a diplomatic mission with a handful of top diplomats from influential OIC member Muslim-majority nations that was seeking to persuade the five permanent members of the U.N. Security Council to pass a resolution calling for an end to over a month of conflict in Gaza. The delegation headed to China and Russia earlier this week before finishing the tour with meetings with top officials of the United Kingdom and France.
Three Indonesian citizens who were volunteers at the Indonesian Hospital in northern Gaza, have been evacuated in safe condition from the Indonesian Hospital in North Gaza to Rafah, South Gaza, according to a statement from the humanitarian organization MER-C via an Instagram post. MER-C wrote that the three volunteers are currently waiting for the opportunity to evacuate Gaza.
Bitung Police Chief Tommy Bambang Souissa said that one person was killed, and two others were injured in a clash involving pro-Palestine protesters and members of a community organization in Bitung, North Sulawesi. North Sulawesi Police Chief Setyo Budiyanto said the police has arrested seven perpetrators and seized a number of evidence, including five machetes, samurai swords, knives, arrows, and two wooden totara. He called on people not to be provoked and to maintain peace in Bitung.
