STRATEGIC ASSESSMENT. Maritime Affairs and Investment Coordinating Minister Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan said the government was harmonizing regulations regarding golden visas. According to Luhut, the golden visa arrangements could be finalized in one to two weeks.
The golden visa can later be allocated to people who meet specific criteria, one of which is individuals with high intellectual capacity. Furthermore, golden visas can be reserved for influential people in various fields, such as top university researchers or Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI.
Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Sandiaga Uno said the government will evaluate the granting of visa-free entry based on reciprocity, usefulness, and security.
According to the minister, the government will conduct an evaluation for the next month to develop quality and sustainable growth of Indonesian tourism. The minister believes there are numerous opportunities for the Indonesian tourism sector to grow in a quality and sustainable manner.
Authorities have said a government regulation that will allow tourists to enter the country via the highly anticipated “golden visa” program is in its final stages and will be ready soon.
Speaking to reporters following a meeting at the Presidential Palace, Maritime Affairs and Investment Coordinating Minister Luhut Pandjaitan said the last details for the golden visa regulation were currently being hashed out and that it would be completed in the next one or two weeks.
