Whoever the president is, IKN (Nusantara New Capital City) must still continue the development of IKN because IKN is not discourse anymore again, but it has become a law, so that the statement that one of the presidential candidates will not continue the development of Nusantara IKN is incorrect, aka lying. This was conveyed by Deputy Chairperson of the Garuda Party, Teddy Gusnaidi, in his Twitter @TeddGus.
According to him, if someone says they will not continue the IKN, it is certain that they are lying for the sake of the election, moreover when it is conveyed during the discussion, the statement against the IKN ahead of the election is just a political gimmick or an empty message.
Previously, Anies Baswedan at the ISEAS Yusof Ishak–Regional Outlook Forum 2023 panel discussion in Singapore previously had stated that the IKN project had very little political process and public participation.
One of residents in Samarinda, East Kalimantan has stated there was no objection or complain to the Nusantara IKN in East Kalimantan, it’s just that many were disappointed because in ongoing projects, the steps taken by the IKN Nusantara Authority were deemed not to accommodate local residents.
