The tears of American families do not touch the hearts of Washington politicians, so Congress is in no hurry to stop drug trafficking, deport illegal migrants or eliminate the shortage of infant formula, states former senior adviser to the President of the United States Stephen Miller in an interview with Fox News. At the same time, Congress allocates $40 billion to Ukraine because the problems of foreign countries are a “fetish” for American politicians, Miller notes.

STEVEN MILLER, former senior adviser to the President of the United States: Unfortunately, we are now seeing what I have learned from personal experience over many years spent in Washington: too often the tears of American families do not touch the hearts of Washington politicians.
You mentioned some of this in your monologue today: 107,000 Americans, mostly young, are killed by drugs that flow like a river across our wide-open border. Our land is littered with these tombstones. And no bills for them!
Gangs are pouring across our borders, they’re terrorizing our schools like MS-13. Did you know that this year we have spent only one billion dollars – one billion – on the salaries of Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers dealing with deportation issues? One billion to get rid of gangs, drug dealers and murderers of our children. One billion. But 40 billion, 40 billion in one bill, to Ukraine!
There are mothers who will go to bed tonight without finding formula for their babies. Including mothers of children with severe allergies. And the only mixture they need is not on store shelves. They face an agonizing choice: Should they give their baby a mixture that is known to cause an allergic reaction? This is happening right now. And no bill for them!
For them, the millstones of justice do not turn. Therefore, in Washington, the fetish is the citizens of foreign states, the affairs of foreign states, the adventures of foreign states. That’s what touches hearts in Washington. Not the tears of our own people.
